As commercial timber suppliers, we look to help our design partners to enhance their architectural vision through our solutions-focused services. From technical details to true sustainability, our natural timber systems can make more than just a statement on commercial architecture.

Commercial projects

Go beyond the bespoke with the readily available, naturally anti-corrosive and visually appealing products seen here on projects we have been specified on.

Sean McGivern,

Kerry Hill Architects, Walyalup Civic Centre

"We aimed to create warmth and texture in the material on the walls while also providing an acoustic solution. To do this, we used the Mortlock Proplank system, which allowed us to vary the timber pieces and spacing across the entire oval form. This approach not only added warmth but also brought an elegance with the use of single pieces of Blackbutt timber, locally sourced here in WA."

Timber Species

Our collection of timbers that each bear distinct characteristics and aesthetic qualities. Native hardwoods, heat treated timber and charred finishes are all crafted to be the cornerstone of your next commercial project.

Natural Timber
Products

At Mortlock Timber, we partner with architects and designers to solve complex challenges and seek out projects that are future-focused and committed to sustainable design.

Our natural timber products have turned those concepts into commercial spaces that celebrate networking and innovation.

"EIW chose both systems to successfully realise this vision. The beauty of that space in the foyer is the use of different materials that we’ve used. Including natural timber, natural stone and water."

    Faqs

    What services do we offer?

Our team can work through detailing and specification requirements to meet specific project requirements. We can assist with budget management without compromising aesthetics and ensure our products perform with an extended lifecycle.

Are your products natural or composite?

All of our architectural timber products are natural. We grade our timber to a natural select grade in accordance with AS 2796.2-2006. Mortlock Timber does not offer any composite timber or aluminium products.

How do you maintain timber walls and ceilings?

The level of maintenance on timber walls and ceilings will be determined by the timber’s exposure to the elements. Our natural timber products are all provided with a factory-coat finish and will require further coats from the time of installation.

What are the lead times on a commercial project?

The make-to-order model means our products have lead times, typically 6-8 weeks for most projects. This does not mean we can’t supply material sooner, speak to one of our project consultants to discuss lead times prior to purchasing.

Is timber group 1 fire rated?

No, timber itself is not Group 1 fire rated. However, for interior use, we can provide timber factory-coated with Fireshield, which meets Group 1 fire rating requirements. Timber without Fireshield is Group 3.
