Perth’s Longest Lunch May 2016

On Friday 20 May 2016 Perth’s Longest Lunch brought together nearly 850 people and raised $250,000 for Brightwater Care Group.

Guests came together to enjoy six sumptuous courses of a finely tuned degustation menu which celebrated the best of Western Australian produce.  From Big Eye tuna caught off the Gascoyne coast, through to exquisitely cooked veal from White Rocks Farm, guests were treated to an array of sensational flavours and beautifully presented dishes.

Each course was served with a local wine hand-picked by John Hanley, the Perth Royal Show’s long serving chief wine judge.

The entire event was set against a backdrop of impressive entertainment, ranging from a gospel choir to an orchestra playing rock songs, with actor and comedian Shane Jacobson taking on MC duties.

Brightwater is one of the largest and best known care providers in Western Australia with 23 facilities located from Joondalup to Mandurah. All funds raised by the generosity of Perth’s Longest Lunch attendees will be used by to make a difference to the lives of the people it works with – older people in residential care, individuals living with Huntington’s Disease, and younger people with disabilities – and their families.

This means that a wonderful afternoon of good food, wine, and networking will continue to enhance hundreds of lives over the coming year – and we’re delighted to have been able to play a role in it. 

Tim Davies Landscaping joined together with AE Smith, Mortlock Timber, Radiant Lighting and Reece Reticulation to donate an architecturally designed and landscaped a new alfresco escape, this was auctioned at the event.

Valued at around $50,000, this exciting item included Bernini stone benchtop, Freo Stone limestone paving and Metroplank natural jarrah decking

And while relaxing alfresco, what do we like to do? Enjoy fine food and beverages, of course!

This Auction item also includes two cutting edge Fisher & Paykel products from Harvey Norman – a freestanding outdoor grill to create gastronomic masterpieces and a 50-bottle dual zone wine cabinet  for keeping your favourite tipple at just the right temperature.
